Amazon Number 1 Bestseller In Horror Anthologies (October 2016)

Twisted 50 volume 1

Twisted  contains some of the best examples of horror fiction I’ve read in years. Most story collections or anthologies have a few duds. Twisted is the exception. The stories are all fantastic and hugely enjoyable.’

Reviews

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brilliant, creative and dark
Brilliant, creative and dark, Twisted 50 makes for chilling reading. I often find it hard to make time for reading during the day but the short length of these stories makes them perfect for bedtime. The collection is refreshingly original and showcases a huge selection of fiction writers. From the quirky and supernatural to the sinister and disturbing, the stories are diverse and challenge more traditional approaches to horror writing. I was hooked throughout and I hope there will be more from this group. At £1.99, the collection is also great value for money!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 50 Nuggets of terror
What is great about this book is each story is a perfectly formed individual nugget of horror, just long enough to terrify you on your commute to work and make you look over your shoulder all the way to the office.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Such a bargain for such quality horror!
If you remember gathering with you mates in that dingy corner behind the back of the bike sheds at school to read the old horror anthologies and then being kept awake at night as you recalled the vivid images of melting eyeballs etc, and you loved it, then this is the book for you! Warped, disturbing and memorable, the fifty beautifully crafted horror stories written by fifty brilliant new authors are guaranteed to have you checking underneath the mattress before you turn out the light. Such a bargain for such quality. Congratulations to all concerned… And watch out for the next ‘sister’ book too, coming soon!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is a fantastic book of shorts  on 26 October 2016
Sick and twisted is right! This is a fantastic book of shorts. I challenge anyone to read it late at night, alone, with the lights out!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A batch of mini Black Mirror episodes – in words
This anthology has fifty short horror stories written by fifty weirdos who have no connection to each other, apart from their mental state. The stories are around seven pages long or less, and vary in their degree of sick-and-twistedness on a scale from nausea to projectile vomiting. I believe there’s reasonable cause for the authorities to raid the homes of some contributors.

How did THAT happen? by Maggie Innes

To me, ultimate horror is good people being driven to do bad things, and it’s vital that readers relate to characters and care about them.   Stephen King is a master at managing the “How did THAT happen?” moment. But when I saw the Create 50 “Can you write a horror story in a weekend?” message

High Heels aren’t for walking are they? by Sasha Black

I love wearing high heels. The power. The adrenaline pumping sexuality. The socially acceptable dirty pretty look every woman, and some men too, can use or better still, abuse. For a transgender twist on the vampire story, high heels seemed an appropriate and powerful totem for the heroine in my story, Tatiana. Once a man,

Just Do It by Richie Brown

Entering stories into Twisted 1, was, for me, quite a leap of faith, not in the competition, but in myself.  I’d done no creative writing since school, and that was a long time ago, but have always been an avid reader of fiction, including horror fiction, so thought it was time to try. I am

Inspiration for the story Flat Hunting by Gordon Slack

Some years ago I visited an elderly relative who had just moved to a smaller house. It was, of course, a tiring experience for her and I politely asked “This will be your last move?”. “No”, she responded and then said, with her wonderful (slightly wicked?) sense of humour, “Just one more, to my single

The Sugarloaf and the Red Shows Backgrounder by Marie Gethins

Hi my name is Marie Gethins and I have an irrational obsession with dance reality shows. It started with satisfying curiosity—what faded celebrities and sports stars were willing to do for a second bite of that fame apple. First the introductory stills were enough. Oiled and spray tanned in skimpy costumes, I relished the wave

Finger Lickin’ Twisted50 Success by JM Hewitt

Towards the later part of 2015 I came across a competition. It was entitled Twisted 50, and they were looking for short stories in the horror genre. The fifty winners would be published in an anthology. I’d never considered writing horror, although I’m a huge fan of horror books and films. I think it started
