Liam is an Irish / British actor and narrator with over 25 audiobooks to date.  His work was nominated for a BAFTA in 2016 for the animation of the life of ‘Walter Tull; Britain’s first black officer’ and he has been nominated for a 2017 AUDIE award for ‘excellence in narration’ for ‘Blackout’

He has appeared on stage in everything from Shakespeare to modern classics, from the west-end to Edinburgh Royal Lyceum and everywhere in between.

He is also an associate-lecturer in broadcast voice and ‘acting for radio’ at Sheffield Hallam University – and lives in Sheffield near the Peak District where he walks his dog, Peg, when his 1 year old son makes too much noise to record from his studio at home!

His scariest moment?  When he was snorkelling in the Indian Ocean at a place called ‘Snoopy island’ when a large shadow slowly drifted past in the water.  He looked up; and saw an 8ft shark slowly swimming past, about 2 foot from his face, the gills gently billowing in the water, the black beady eye looking for prey…fortunately it swam off nonplussed leaving Liam frantically splashing back to shore screaming ‘Shark!! …Shark!’.  Having lost any sense of dignity splashing like a lost fish the locals then told him they were very common in those parts and never hurt anyone!

As a child of the 80’s he was brought up on the chillingly-awful 90’s horror franchises of ‘Scream’ and ‘I still know what you did last summer’ but his favourite horror film is ‘The Woman in Black’ (the original black and white version; not the terrible remake) and he loves the play and the book.  So much so he’s seen the play 6 times!

He says:  “I remember reading a collection of short horror stories we had on the bookshelf when I was a child; with stories like ‘the monkey’s paw’ and ‘the signalman’ by Dickens which I thought was brilliant.  The short story model is perfect for horror and I just wish there could be more!”
